Identistories is the counseling firm led by Alessandra Cosso. Her work consist in reshaping business and professional identities trough Narrative Humanities and Relationship Design.

Alessandra is a consultant who focuses her practice into unravelling the skein of people’s personal and professional stories through narrative coaching and counselling techniques. She help organisations, brands and businesses take back control of their scripts, evolve, grow and flourish. Alessandra helps them design their relationships with bosses, peers, clients so that their Identistory can be clearly read in all their words and actions.

Is always a hard subject when it comes to visualizing topics such as identities, personalities, and relationship — and how a professional tackles with these subjects in her job.

Starting from the maieutical concept of discovering oneself with the help of a maestro , a counselor — who guides a person in the self-discovery path not giving responses, but asking proper questions — I developed a logotype that gives visual hints of the letters of which is composed. Missing strokes, hidden serif and forgotten stems force the reader to re-build the meaning of the shapes, recollecting in her memory how a glyph is made and then completing the maimed letterforms.

Following the principle of desirable difficulty , «a learning task that requires a considerable but desirable amount of effort, thereby improving long-term performance» ↗︎ , Identistories logotype forces the reader to focus her attention on its shapes to understand the identity of each deconstructed glyph, and then to build the meaning of the world composed by them.

As the maieutical master asks a question to find in her disciple the inner answer and meaning, the deconstructed glyphs ask the reader to find their meaning in the reader’s memory and knowledge.

The website mirrors the narrative approach of Alessandra’s work. In fact, the homepage doesn’t show the classic structure with info on the services or about Alessandra but prompts the visitor to start an unexpected narrative journey.

Following a red thread that runs through jungles, mountains and seas, the visitor experience what does it mean to explore the inner self with a narrative approach, guided by a counselor.

These illustrations help the visitor to immerse herself in the experience, enhancing the narrative and setting the mood of the whole stay on the website.

As the narrative experience ends, the visitor arrives at the informative homepage where Alessandra explains what she does, with who, how and why.

Here the four core services offered by Identistories are accompanied by animated vectorial SVG illustrations where the red thread, swirling and flowing freely, draws evocative scenes.
